چکیده

Looking at the examples in (2.1), we see that the degree of the first polynomial is 2, the second one has degree 16, etc. A number of operations can be performed with polynomials. Given a polynomial p(z) and a complex number c, the polynomial c p(z) is obtained by multiplying each coefficient in p(z) by c. Given two polynomials p(z) and q(z), their sum is defined by adding the coefficients of corresponding power. Some examples will illustrate these definitions. Given p(z) = z − iz + 1 + 7i and c = 1− i, we have c p(z) = (1− i)(z − iz + 1 + 7i) = (1− i)z + (1− i)(−i)z + (1− i)(1 + 7i) = (1− i)z + (−1− i)z + 8 + 6i. Let q(z) = −z + 4z − 8z − 8. Then the polynomial p(z) + q(z) is given by p(z) + q(z) = (z − iz + 1 + 7i) + (−z + 4z − 8z − 8) = (1 + (−1))z + (0 + 4)z + (−i+ (−1− i))z + (1 + 7i+ (−8)) = 4z + (−1− 2i)z − 7 + 7i.

Lecture notes on orthogonal polynomials of sev- eral variables

These lecture notes provide an introduction to orthogonal polynomials of several variables. It will cover the basic theory but deal mostly with examples, paying special attention to those orthogonal polynomials associated with classical type weight functions supported on the standard domains, for which fairly explicit formulae exist. There is little prerequisites for these lecture notes, a work...

Factors affecting students tendency of Univercity students to Lecture Notes

Introduction: Many studies detected factors contributing to the students’ tendency to lecture notes. This study aimed at evaluating the factors affecting students tendency to lecture notes in Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this descriptive study, 179 students from medicine, nursing & midwifery, health, and Paramedicine schools were selected through stratified random...

Traceless Symmetric Tensor Approach to Legendre Polynomials and Spherical Harmonics

In these notes I will describe the separation of variable technique for solving Laplace’s equation, using spherical polar coordinates. The solutions will involve Legendre polynomials for cases with azimuthal symmetry, and more generally they will involve spherical harmonics. I will construct these solutions using traceless symmetric tensors, but in Lecture Notes 8 I describe how the solutions i...

Lecture Notes for Interlacing Families

In these notes we follow the two papers [6, 7] where Marcus, Spielman and Srivastava developed a method that they coined the method of interlacing families. In [6] they proved the existence of infinite families of bipartite Ramanujan graphs for all degrees, and in [7] they provided a positive answer to the notorious Kadison– Singer problem. We take the opportunity to have a slightly more genera...

Lecture 11 : Hyperbolic Polynomials and Hyperbolicity Cones

In this lecture, we will introduce the concept of hyperbolic polynomials, a generalization of real stable polynomials. We will also introduce the concept of hyperbolicity cones, which are the set of directions along which a polynomial is always real-rooted. We will prove that hyperbolicity cones are convex, study some of their properties, and invyestigate the connection between barrier argument...
